GSEA/MSigDB Privacy Policy
We respect the privacy of all GSEA/MSigDB users, and we do not collect any user information except in the situations listed below.
- Accessing some parts of the GSEA/MSigDB website, including the GSEA downloads page and the MSigDB online tools, require the
user to first register with an email address and organization name. These are stored, along with the registration date and time.
- The registration email address is also used to log in to the website. We store information about which pages are accessed,
along with the date and time.
- When a user starts the GSEA desktop application, it fetches version information from a GSEA server. We log the date and time,
the version number of the GSEA application that was started, and the IP address of the workstation running it. No email address
is stored in this case.
- We note that we do not attempt to confirm that a user's email address and organization are correct; we do not send a confirmation
email. While the fields are required, it is up to users whether or not they disclose their actual information.
We do not give, share, sell, or transfer any of the collected information to third parties. We use this information in the
aggregate to generate usage statistics to assist in securing continued funding for GSEA/MSigDB and for progress reports to our
funding agencies. Occasionally, we may contact registered users to inform them of important funding updates that may affect
the continued availability of the GSEA-MSigDB resource.
The GSEA/MSigDB website includes links to external websites. Once you click on such a link, you are subject to the privacy policy
of that website.
This policy may change from time to time, and if it does, we will update this page.
