Human Gene Set: PURWIN_A375_SOX10_TARGETS

Standard name PURWIN_A375_SOX10_TARGETS
Systematic name M48227
Brief description Genes with a SOX10 ChIP-seq peak in the promoter region that are commonly down-regulated (BHFDR < 0.05) in two A375 CRISPR SOX10 knockout clones.
Full description or abstract SOX10 is a transcription factor involved with neural crest development and is expressed in cutaneous melanoma. Loss of SOX10 in cutaneous melanoma has been linked to an invasive phenotype as well as resistance to MAPK targeted therapies. Transcriptomic changes due to SOX10 loss was modeled using RNA-seq data from CRISPR knockout in A375 and MeWo melanoma cell lines. SOX10 gene targets were prioritized using Ensembl Regulatory build promoter region data as well as SOX10 ChIP-seq peak call data from the GTRD for the melanoma cell line Mel501. Signature genes were generated from the intersect of ChIP-seq target genes and significantly (BHFDR < 0.05) down-regulated genes.
