Full description or abstract We examined gene expression patterns from the NCI-60 collection of cancer cell lines. We sought to use these data to identify targets of the transcription factor p53, which regulates gene expression in response to various signals of cellular stress. The mutational status of the p53 gene has been reported for 50 of the NCI-60 cell lines, with 17 being classified as normal and 33 as carrying mutations in the gene.
