Human Gene Set: GLASS_IGF2BP1_CLIP_TARGETS_KNOCKDOWN_DN

Standard name GLASS_IGF2BP1_CLIP_TARGETS_KNOCKDOWN_DN
Systematic name M42507
Brief description Transcripts bound to IGF2BP1 and consistently downregulated upon IGF2BP1 knockdown in various cancer derived cell lines.
Full description or abstract The oncofetal IGF2 mRNA-binding protein 1 (IGF2BP1) promotes tumor progression in a variety of solid tumors and its expression is associated with adverse prognosis. The main role proposed for IGF2BP1 in cancer cells is the stabilization of mRNAs encoding pro-oncogenic factors. This set contains 117 genes, consistently downregulated upon the knockdown of IGF2BP1 in various cancer derived cell lines. Furthermore, these 117 genes showed a positive correlation in RNA expression with IGF2BP1 in the majority of TCGA tumor cohorts and their transcripts were identified as direct IGF2BP1 targets by CLIP-seq experiments.
